Short description: The course covers the basics ecological animal life in the inland waters flowing and standing as well as selected areas of the seas and oceans, taking into account the contemporary problems related to pollution of the aquatic environment and the need to protect certain species of aquatic animals.
Full description: Biology and the importance of animal organisms that inhabit the inland waters of Poland. The program provides basic information about the taxonomy of aquatic animals, methods of sampling for research, teaching skills to recognize and describe the aquatic fauna.

Learning outcomes: After course completion student In area of knowledge: 1. has an extended knowledge sufficient to describe and explain the phenomena and processes in the aquatic environment. 2. knows the rules of conducting research using animals in water terms of bioethics. 3. is characterized by the impact of human activities on the aquatic environment, It indicates a threat to the hydrosphere on the part of business and able to propose measures to reduce the negative effects on water environment. In area of social competences: 1. is active in updating knowledge and related hydrozoologii scientific disciplines. It is aware of the need for lifelong learning life. 2. is open to teamwork, cooperative and group management, It is aware of the responsibility for the tasks performed jointly by team. 3. is aware of the ethics of the profession, is responsible for welfare of aquatic animals and shaping and the environment natural.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: Students with credit exercises receive the same employment credit assessment.
